- 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 8 ounces of semi sweet or white chocolate chips or 4 ounces of each
- 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- optional: 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles.
